Interface converters

Skytop serial interface converters allow a standard RS-232 port to communicate with an individual RS-422 device or multiple RS-485 devices. Full duplex and half duplex modes are supported. Optically isolated versions are available providing immunity from ground loops and surges. Skytop serial interface converters are available in extended temperature versions and OEM versions without enclosures.

Interface converters are used to electrically isolate and convert analog signals. Sensors/actuators and controls often have different power supply units, and therefore require electrical isolation in the signal circuit. The converting of analog signals also allows transmission over longer distances.
